Results 2018 - GCSE

It has been another record breaking year at King Charles I School with our best ever set of GCSE results. The students made outstanding progress across a range of subjects - a truly fantastic achievement, demonstrating the quality of the experience studying at King Charles offers alongside the students’ hard work. We are delighted that the percentage of students achieving grades 9-4 (‘standard pass’) in English and mathematics significantly improved to 72%. We are thrilled with the significant improvements in the percentage of students achieving the top grades and the highly academic and challenging English Baccalaureate.
Star students Morgan Allin, William Anderson, Sarah Astill, Emily Bowron, Holly Fisher, Kaitlyn Green, Morgan Jarvis, Jasmine Morris, Connor Neri, Alice Shakeshaft, Lukas Southern, Molly Thompsonand Ruth Weberall achieved 8 or more grades at 9-7. There were exceptional performances from Emily Bowron (eight grade 9s and 3 grade 8s) and Jasmine Morris (seven grade 9s, one grade 8 and three grade 7s).
Headteacher Stephen Brownlow said,

I am delighted for the students. These outstanding results are a testament to the five years of dedication and hard work of our students and their teachers. It was great to see so many smiling faces as they picked up their results. At a time when young people are under intense scrutiny and pressure our students are achieving at an exceptional level. This is down to the hard work and excellent behaviour of our students, the high standard of teaching and the excellent relationships between staff and students.
