On Wednesday 22nd March, Billy Millward, Joby Watkins, Jack Stokes, Nathan Taylor, Emily Thomas, Rebecca Swann and Lauren Chambers from Year 9 went to Aston university to attend the event “Jour de la Francophonie” organised by Routes into Languages. The event was divided into three workshops, where students could learn about French speaking countries such as Belgium, The Republic Democratic of Congo and Switzerland. Later on, our students, who had been split up amongst the three different workshops and mixed with other regional schools, had to create a presentation based on the information they had gathered. The day was mostly delivered in French and our students shown tremendous resilience. They presented the country they had been studying in French, and after some deliberation from the judging panel, one group was crowned the winner. Congratulations to Joby Watkins and Emily Thomas who were part of the winning team, but in our eyes, they were all winners on the day, and made us very proud.
