Year 10 students visited Carding mill valley as part of their GCSE coursework. As part of the visit, students walked up to the source of the river where they witnessed V-shaped valleys and waterfalls. Measurements were taken at three strategic locations along the long profile of the river as the students headed towards the lower course of the river. Students also got an opportunity to visit a dam and to see how humans have taken control of water. The highlight of the day was Mr Busby’s demonstration of velocity through the use of a luminescent dye in the water.
