The German play from Onatti came on Thursday 15th March to deliver Hausarrest solely in German to all of the Year 7s at KCI. The topics of rooms in the house, household items, illness, directions, family relationships and more were covered in the play to consolidate what our students had been studying in lessons so far this academic year. The students laughed along, took part in the play, and even joined in and played the part of the sister of the main character. The play was a tremendous success and a very exciting learning tool for our students and we hope to renew to experience next year. We were very lucky to be able to offer this experience in German to our students.
Quotes from Year 7 students:
“it was really good because lots of words they used I understood and others I could go and look them up”
“They did a good job of helping us understand with movements, actions and tone of voice”
“it was lots of fun!”
“it was really entertaining! The best bit was when someone went up from the audience. They had to act and speak German. It was really funny!”
