Year 7 entry in September 2020

I am delighted that so many Year 6 parents/students and students have chosen to come to King Charles in September 2020. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our school community.

We are currently experiencing unprecedented times. Schools, their staff and parents/cares are doing an excellent job to ensure young people are supported with continued education, whilst maintaining their mental and physical wellbeing. I am sure you and your son/daughter will already have questions and apprehensions about starting secondary school. I want to assure you that all questions will be answered through our correspondence over the next couple of months and all students will be supported through their transition to Year 7.

It is with regret that we will not be able to conduct our ‘normal’ transition arrangements in school and are unable to open for the planned Year 6 transition week on Monday 29th June to Friday 3rd July or our ‘new intake’ evening on Thursday 2nd July. However, we will stay in contact with you in a variety of ways. Letters are sent out each month providing details about the school (these are also linked below), we will be uploading videos and messages via twitter, we will be hosting a virtual transition evening and we will be distributing curriculum work packs either to your son/daughter’s primary school or sent to you directly by post.

If you have any questions about the school or about the Year 6 to 7 transition please contact Mr Wilkinson via email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

I look forward to meeting all of our new Year 7 students soon.

Jamie Butler
Associate Headteacher
