Year 7 Settling In Evening

Year 7 Settling in Evening: Thursday 7th October

We are delighted to be holding the ‘Year 7 Settling in Evening’ where tutors will discuss how your sons and daughters have settled in to King Charles I School. All appointments can be made using the parents’ evening tab in ParentMail. Appointments can be made between 5.00pm and 7.30pm on Thursday 7th October. The appointments given are of five minutes’ duration and we ask your co-operation in keeping to arranged times or the system will break down.
You will receive an invitation from us via ParentMail informing you that the Thursday 7th October booking slots are available to book. Once you receive this message you will be able to book an appointment with your son/daughters Form Tutor. Appointments will be saved in ParentMail and you will be able to check or amend them as necessary.

Registering is easy and quick to do. If you have already signed up to this service, then you do not need to sign up again. If you have both a mobile number and an email address registered on your account, you will receive a registration invitation by text and email. You can decide which way you register – but you will only need to register once.

On the evening, staff will be located in the hall on the Borrington Site and in classrooms in the main building. On arrival, please register at the table in the reception area.

NB. If you would prefer a virtual appointment please indicate this by putting ‘virtual appointment requested’ in the comments section of the form. This will then be set up via MS Teams.

If you have any problems, please email the school office at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

We are also offering curriculum and academic support briefings in addition to your appointment with the Form Tutor and these can be booked using the same ParentMail system.

Curriculum and academic support briefings available (also available virtually below):

  • Supporting reading at home
  • Practical ways to support your son/daughter in mathematics – ‘Hegarty’ maths on-line

Parking space in school is severely limited and I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Please remember that all the neighbouring roads are public roads and the residents experience a good deal of disruption when we have events at the Borrington Site.

Please make your appointments by Monday 4th October.

Curriculum and academic support briefings available:

  • Supporting Reading at home

Literacy is key to examination success and the programme encourages students to develop their literacy by providing books carefully matched to their ability.

  • Practical ways to support your son/daughter in mathematics

A brief workshop to help you support your son/daughter in order to make the best possible progress in this vital area of the curriculum, including how to use ‘Hegarty’ maths on-line platform.

  • Year 8 Options

A short information briefing regarding the Option choice process that takes place in Year 8.
